EDUARDO'S PLANE A FURTHER TARGET OF BRAZIL'S STABLE DEMOCRACY?

The Economist's choice in 2010 for Brazil's presidency, Marina Silva - nearly 20 million votes later - left the green party (Partido Verde) and went on to set her party, Rede Sustentabilidade. That failed due to the typical 'jeitinho' - take that in contrast with the fact that at least two other parties got their legal status, despite the insignificant reach of the politicians there involved. Marina, incredibly, was the one to be declared as not having obtained enough adhesion to her party...

Shortly afterwards she took the whole country aback by 'proposing to' Eduardo Campos - as his vice-president name in next elections. Not everyone in PSB was happy with the nice partnership between the two who had been ministers under Lula.
This Wednesday (13.08.2014) Eduardo dies and his brother defends Marina, against the views of some within the PSB party. I hope Antonio, the brother, wins out and Marina takes Eduardo's place in the run for presidency. Not that Brazil deserves her, but History surely aims at it.

Newspapers today point her as Eduardo's "natural successor".

The accident
After having by now read all about the last moments of Eduardo, I cannot miss these intriguing points:
1) the authorities simply ignore what witnesses on ground agree on: the plane was on fire as it was falling, trying not to hit buildings;
2) On 12.08, the day before the crash, Eduardo gives an interview for Jornal Nacional, the most noble program in the Brazilian TV. He and his staff consider it a success;
3) Eduardo's stronghold was the Northeast region, precisely where Dilma Rousseff attracted most enthusiastic voters in 2010. In the present campaign Dilma does not see any enthusiasm anywhere but in the Northeast - and it makes not so many waves as before.

In view of these, we are pushed into questioning whether it was really an accident or not. As I studied the case, I came to the hypothesis that the jet might have been targeted intentionally. There were buildings high enough standing very close to the route the aircraft took while approaching the airport; the spot of the fall is neighbour to such buildings.
Santos is not to become a new spot in the map of the cold war in its usual geopolitical sense... But while Obama was awkwardly fast in pronouncing his certainty about a missile as the cause of the recent crash in Ukraine, in Brazil what raises suspicion is the surprising lack of due speculation: the hypothesis of an attack on Eduardo's flight has not so far crossed anyone else's spoken mind (besides mine).

Since the journalists in the 'formal' media prefer to point to the pilot's facebook and his message about being very tired and working hard, while also adopting the authorities version blaiming the weather, my hypothesis is at least smarter than theirs. I put in the fire saw by witnesses and the lack of any communication of trouble by the pilots. The attack is thus very plausible. Indeed, the Ukraine crash could have inspired - it crosses my mind just now - the responsible for a possible attack.

A last crucial point here: It would make no sense to attempt only against Eduardo. Marina da Silva was to fly with him, taking two more aids onboard. She gave up in the eleventh hour, because she allegedly did not want to share the event in Santos also with Alckmin, governor of S. Paulo, whom she does not feel afinity to, specially politically.

Bottom line: I work very seriously with the hypothesis of attack on the aircraft. The plot, miraculously, backfired, as Marina escaped and is now more popular than never to run for president.
