TIME TO PUT YOURSELF TO THE TEST

NUMBER 1, 2, 3, 4 OR... neither of them?

Below are four characteristics of a balanced and wholesome person who can cope with life.

They are attitudes extremely rare - in the city of S.Paulo it is particularly easy to agree on such rarity.

The first attitude... is found in those considered nuts -  people deceive themselves all the time, and calling the lucid "nuts" is their favorite practice in deceiving themselves. They act like that because they get nervous when finding themselves to be wrong, and because they are arrogant as they consistently avoid questioning.
So, yes, there is a strong correlation between the four characteristics. If one does not have the first, high chances are he/she does not have the other three either.

1. deal constructively with reality - Mature people do not kid themselves. They face facts; they do not cover up reality or call it something else, but deal with it as it is.

2. adapt quickly to change - Immature people resist change. It makes them nervous.

3. relate to others with consistency, helpfulness and mutual satisfaction - "others" here are those very different from oneself.

4. sublimate and redirect anger to constructive ends - They use the adrenaline that anger creates, not to lose their temper, but to correct a situation or to contribute to changing the nature of the difficulty.
