On February 24,2008 Ferreira Gullar published "Repressão e Preconceito" (Repression and Prejudice) in Folha de S.Paulo newspaper. It was also a Sunday, the day of his weekly column in that main media.
In the article, Gullar proposes, "If the person was born a pedophile, why is his sexual preference considered a crime?"
I hope the Swedish Academy does not grant him the prize. I do not take him a poet or writer that good; no doubt, he is someone with 'good', i.e, powerful connections. The newspaper blocked all comments to that article.
