'The city of Rio de Janeiro may have one of the biggest dengue epidemics in its history', says the minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha. (Folha de S.Paulo, 14.02.2012)
Folha de S.Paulo also showed data from that Ministry: From 1.1.2012-11.2.2012 there were 2.851 cases in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Among 536 Brazilian cities assessed, 91 are under threat of epidemic, but 'Rio is the one to arise more concern', stresses Mr. Padilha, who also stated that there has been no register of death from the disease since August.
