In a nutshell
Ana Alice Moreira de Melo (see photo here or link below) had asked the State for protection - in view of threats from her husband - around a week before being killed (Thrusday, 02). An early report (the early ones are not so manipulated yet) said she still lived with him, despite steps to divorce. The motivation for cover-up: investigation to see if the State had neglected the protection was asked for. The following day, Friday: the husband is found dead... also stabbed - 21 times! - in a motel only six minutes away from the site of the woman's murder (their residence, a R$4.6 million mansion). A knife was lying on his chest. The whole story is so weak... The chief of police investigating Alice's death was quoted today as being about to close the case - so soon - as the suspect has died from 'self-extermination'. Ana Alice held the judiciary position of "procuradora", being staff at the Federal Court in Belo Horizonte. Two kids, 2 and 4, are now orphans.
