Kate and her husband attended tonight the London premiere of Steven Speilberg's War Horse. This was her first premiere as duchess. The 'star' horse also felt the smoothness of the red carpet, which was wet. The photo (top of the page) shows that the rainy weather did not the least hurt the sheer elegance of the couple, whose presence was appropriate since the event was in aid of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, that is, Kate's husband and brother-in-law. Michael Morpurgo - the author of the book on which the movie is based - was delighted with the sight of Kate and declared he was going to send her a copy as a gift for her birthday, tomorrow.
What about Kate's dress? I love lace; Kate wore lace in Canada - a short navy blue dress which looked terrific in her. But this long black lace one did not favor her. I would have chosen a top just like that of the dress, combining it with an opaque black skirt that would make the top stand out. This would serve her as a better outfit since she is too thin.
