THE NAME OF THE HOSPITAL KATE IS IN- Lindo's Wing: WHY HIDDING ITS JEWISH FUNDER?
No popular media has commented on it so far. While St. Mary's is a common English name, calling no attention to it, Lindo is intriguing. Lindo Wing is the part of the St. Mary's Hospital where Kate has been admitted to early this morning.
Here we come to the fore to explain the origins of the name Lindo, making a little report which unfortunately indicates that - even today - there remains a lot of prejudice against the Jews.
Jews? Yes. As specially good researchers, we here have found out the link between a Jewish man and the place where the 'future British king' shall come soon to the world.
One first sign of prejudice against Jews, called antiSemitism, is that the plaque at the entrance of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital says that the donor who paid for the whole wing in 1937 is "anonymous". In fact, that is not true.
A wealthy Jewish man, Frank Charles Lindo, donated an amount of money - £ 5,000 (five thousand sterling pounds) -, enough to allow the Lindo Wing to open free of debt. Altogether, he donated £ 111,500 to the hospital.
He married a member of the board of management at St. Mary's, Violet Portman. He died a year after the donation to the Lindo Wing.
Only Jewish organizations have revealed that the Lindo Wing is "Jewish" and "Jewish-funded". This is another indication of prejudice - references to Jews are largely avoided.
The plaque by the entrance also says:
“His gifts, sympathy and understanding made possible the erection and equipment of this building for the relief of sickness and suffering ... and will remain for all time a monument of his outstanding generosity.”
Closing the report which serves as our main source, JTA organization uses an idiche dialect to say that Frank Lindo would take pleasure in seeing the royal baby born in the premises he funded.
The name 'Lindo" is also the designation of a very special Jewish object, the Lindo Lamp, which is regarded the earliest known British menorah (candleholder).
