A Igreja do Leste, se não é a mais antiga de todas, certamente é bem mais antiga do que a Igreja Católica. Além disso, era a mais poderosa, a que deu mais "trabalho" para os que viriam a ser os fundadores da Igreja Católica. Católica significa universal, ou seja, qualquer outra religião passou a ser, com maior ou menor influência, "nossa". Observe que o Senhor também passou a ser, explicitamente, "Nosso Senhor". Junto com "amém", NSJC (Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo) é uma das expressões mais repetidas durante a missa.
