Não havia fiéis católicos antes do século VII (anos 600-699). Isto mesmo: não havia grupo que adotasse as doutrinas católicas, ainda que com outro nome. Nada. Os primeiros fiéis católicos emergiram dos povos que a história "dos vencedores" estranhamente chama de "bárbaros", que "teriam invadido o império". Lorota. Não invadiram, não. Esses "bárbaros" eram cristãos arianos! Eles gradualmente assimilaram a doutrina do papa, em troca de privilégios políticos, terras...
Esqueça, portanto, os discípulos-pescadores-humildes da tão distante (em relação a Roma) Galileia. Eles foram distorcidos brutalmente também, e incorporados à doutrina do papa romano.
